Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in the book called “Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ“. It is my hope and prayer that you will study this material carefully and absorb it into your mind and spirit. Over the past nearly 15 years, since it was first printed, well over 100,000 hurting people suffering from addiction have ordered this book. At present, we have over 2,200 enrolled in our Student Correspondence Course and 143 enrolled in our Teacher Training Course. The acceptance and use of this material staggers the mind. We thank the Lord for the success of these efforts.

The original writing of this book took place in the Marion County Jail, Ocala, Florida in 1989 and 1990. The idea behind the book was to give those suffering with addiction the tools and the understanding as to the cause of addiction, the solution to that problem and the tools needed to overcome that problem for the rest of their lives. It began very humbly with no idea that the need for such a book would would like it has over the past 15 years.

Today, this publication is used by people in all 50 states and several foreign countries. You may ask - “how did this come about?“ After 10 years of study and time spent with the inmates in our local state prison, I came to the conclusion that a very large percentage (ninety percent or better) of the people in jails and prisons were there because they committed a crime while under the influence of a severe addiction. They were down right hurting people spiritually and appeared to be hopeless to find the answer to their dilemma. They looked to a compulsive habit to solve the problem. After much prayer and study, I came to the conclusion that the answer to that problem was the Alcoholics Anonymous program. My study of that program in its early states of its formation in the 1930’s showed me that God was their “Higher Power“ and that He was the answer to their problems. Their success was phenomenal. I became very interested in this solution and the Lord showed me that He had to be the addicted person’s higher power and none other. Bu the Lord’s leading, I began to write lessons based on the 11 program with Jesus Christ as the higher power. As the writing of this program began to filter out into society, the interest n this new updated version of the AA program was immediate. After only a short time, the demand for this teaching material spread like wild fire. As a result, today the program seems to be nearly everywhere. God has brought about a mighty miracle.

As you read these words, you may ask -”How is this going to help me?” We have provided the tools needed to attack the problem and solve it. The mighty powerful reason that it works is because Jesus Christ is at its center. In every sense of the word, He is our higher power. The Bible teachers us that as long as we keep Jesus Christ at the center of our life, we will overcome. Philippians 4:13 states, - “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.“ That fact, found in the Word of God, friends is the answer to our addiction.

I personally experienced the healing from my own addiction 30 years ago in this manner and I have seen hundreds of people healed since that time. They have become “New Creations“ by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You can too. I encourage you to get busy. The life you live is God’s gift to you. What you do with that life is your gift to Him.
